The Philippine Cup will be offering another exciting, heart-thumping semifinal match Petron Petron Blaze Boosters vs Talk N Text Tropang Texters in a winner-take all Game 7 on Wednesday at Cuneta Astrodome. The Tropang Texters are trying to win the series after falling behind 3-1 against the Blaze Boosters.

In Game 6, All-Star spitfire guard Jimmy Alapag carried the scoring cudgels for Talk N Text to outshone Petron with a 111-108 victory on Sunday behind a 16,554 sellout crowd. The reigning MVP scored personal conference-high 29 points, issued 10 assists and grabbed  seven rebounds to level the series to 3-all.  The all-around performance of Alapag rubbed off to his teammates most especially forward Rich Alvarez contributing a lot on defense in the dying minutes of the match. Alvarez forced Chris Lutz to turn the ball over with less than a minute to play and intercept an erratic pass from Alex Cabagnot to cap his defensive brilliance.

The Blaze Boosters collapsed in the fourth quarter with their lackluster defense most especially Alapag asserting his game. According to coach Ato Agustin, his team lost focus in the game most especially on defense as they competed in a shooting matchup against the Tropang Texters.  One defensive lapse made by Petron was allowing Larry Fonacier to hit a triple in the closing minute to take the lead. Petron’s ace guard had another outstanding performance with 18 points and 10 assists for a losing effort.
